Bro. Russell Threet has been serving as Senior Pastor at West Park since September of 2022. Before coming to Ozark, he served as the Senior Pastor of First Baptist Mena, Arkansas and of Chestnut Grove Baptist Church in Buckingham County, Virginia. He also previously served as the Youth and Children’s Pastor at Zion Baptist Church in Orange, Virginia. Bro. Russell is a native of Arkansas, living most of his life in the Jonesboro area.

Bro. Russell and his wife Sarah have been married since 2008. Together they have three sons: William Paul, Jack, and Luke. Sarah serves at West Park as the Sunday School teacher of the younger children’s class.

Bro. Russell is a graduate of Bellevue University where he earned a BS in Marketing Management. He holds both an MA in Christian Ministries and a Master of Divinity in Pastoral Ministries from Liberty University Baptist Theological Seminary. He also holds a Doctor of Practical Theology from Master’s International University of Divinity.Bro. Russell is certified as a biblical counselor through the International Association of Biblical Counselors and the Fellowship of Biblical Counselors. He is the director of West Park Biblical Counseling and Training Center and is passionate about training biblical counselors and helping others through counseling from a biblical perspective. In his spare time, he enjoys hunting, reading and reviewing books, camping, and shooting.
